Investment Objective

Total return with an emphasis on providing current income.

Strategy

Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 80% of its total net assets in income-paying publicly traded common stocks, preferred stocks, and other equity-related instruments of companies located in the Asia region, which includes China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Distributions

The Matthews Asia Dividend Fund intends to distribute its dividends quarterly. Second Quarter 2011 distributions were paid for the I (Dist) and A (Dist) share classes on 29 June 2011 to shareholders of record as of 21 June 2011. Second Quarter 2011 distribution information is now available.
